Sipping on cucumber water and organic beer, guests pondered their own green guilt at last night’s launch of Bothered by My Green Conscience a new book by Torontonian Franke James. The author challenged us to think of the things in our own green conscience and read aloud the thoughts from the crowd before reading an essay from the book. James is an artist and writer whose work and life is focused on the environment and her new book is a visual experience of the way she started to strike environmental change in her own life. Selling her SVU, building a ‘green’ driveway, adventures in eco-friendly fashion and even proposing there be laws that enforce green behaviour. It’s a fun read and one that will definitely have you imagining ways you could green your own life.
