Stylewatchers love brand extension. Paul Hardy, the Calgary based designer best known for his ultra-chic knitwear line Kaille, has introduced a dramatic collection of necklaces for his atelier. The Calgary based designer has plucked antique findings from markets he scours on his exotic world travels. Prices range from $795 to $1595 (remember, he hand picks each delicate cluster of gems). Perfect for that neon tank you’ll be sporting this fall. Next up? A line of exotic skin antiquarian frame handbags. Stay tuned!

Rumours have been swirling about Olivier Theyskens’ next move after his departure from Nina Ricci and we were a bit worried that we may not see his adorable mug for a while. But with a glimpse at the new Maison Michel lookbook for Fall ‘09, we were pleased to see him modeling the label’s famous millinery. Karl Lagerfeld photographed Theyskens along with a few more fashion industry notables (Erin Wasson, Lou Doillon, Lara Stone, and more) for the French company (check out their luxe headgear at www.michel-paris.com), which is led by Chanel’s own head of accessories. Theyskens has long been the subject of many a fashion crush for his delicate good looks, could his next move involve a more public profile in front of the camera? Where do you think he’ll end up?

Loving those Miami Vice-inspired seafoam green and hot pink blazers from Alexander Wang? Or maybe just on board for the ’80s redux making a splash for fall? Then you’ll love these sunglasses. After ruling the ’80s with their racing shades as worn by Crockett and Tubbs, Carrera is back on the scene with cool updated styles and hot hues and cool neutrals. Perfect now that summer is finally here – we love the classic Rush style in black and chrome. Available at eyewear boutiques across the country now; $140-180.

Think Roots is a little too outdoorsy for your city girl taste? Think again. This Fall the beloved Canadian brand is amping up their style cred with a chic new line of handbags. Cool zipper details and the perfect amount of slouch in their legendary soft leathers can be found on totes, satchels, sweet clutches and carry-alls. We love the merlot hue of this Carla bag (named for the ultra-chic Ms. Bruni, a hint at their new fashionable direction). The shoulder bag is light as a feather and super comfortable which will make lugging all our necessities around next season a snap. With all this and reasonable prices to boot (the Carla goes for $388), we are definitely going back to our Roots come fall. Oh Canada!
