The glamazon diva that is Miss Beyoncé just signed on the dotted line with fragrance giant Coty who will launch B’s personalized scent early next year. While we’re definitely not surprised by the announcement (only that she hasn’t added a perfume flask to her mantle of achievements before now) we’re slightly curious about which leading lady might take her place as the face of her current campaign, Emporio Armani Diamonds. If we were the betting type, we might put our money on a certain Foxy seductress who just replaced Victoria Beckham as the face––and body––of Emporio Armani underwear.

Everyone is going mad for Carey Mulligan. If her name only seems vaguely familiar to you now, wait until October when her film An Education hits. You can checkout our interview with Mulligan from the Toronto International Film Festival in our upcoming December issue. In the meantime, checkout this piece from the NY Times where five designers gave her the star makeover treatment. Her Marc Jacobs’ makeover is my favourite, but Nicolas Ghesquiere’s is a close second.—Alexandra Breen

Well day one of TIFF is officially here. I started off the day with Diablo Cody’s latest flick, Jennifer’s Body. It’s a little bit Baywatch, a little bit Scream and nothing at all like Juno—the script does have traces of Cody’s tongue and cheek humour, however. Megan Fox plays a super hot (big surprise), not so bright teen who becomes possessed after an unfortunate joy riding incident with a group of rockers. From that point on, her main mission is to devour teenaged boys. Amanda Seyfried, who also has Atom Egoyan’s Chloe at the festival, delivers an impressive performance as Fox’s push over turned tough girl bf. I’m looking forward to catching up with Seyfried in an interview on Sunday.
Next up, was a quick stop at rock-it promotions’ Tastemakers lounge—a suite at the Intercontinental hotel featuring celebrity swank such as Joe Fresh makeup, Guats organic bamboo clothing and D&G’s fragrances. The featured salon is Chiggy’s Touch, they specialize in curly hair so I might just have to book an appointment to see if they can tame my mane.
Tonight I’m seeing the Sundance favourite, An Education. I’ll report back in the a.m after my interview with Carey Mulligan.—Alexandra Breen

Rumer Willis doesn’t get star struck. After all her blockbuster parents, Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, were the Brad and Angelina of the ‘80s. But now she’s making a name for herself playing a sorority sister in Sorority Row, hitting theatres September 11.
By Erica Cupido
EC: You play a sorority sister in Sorority Row. In what ways do you relate to your character?
Rumer Willis: “I think my character, Ellie, is very much the voice of reason. Even though she’s a little bit too scared to speak up for herself at times, she definitely has a good conscience and she knows what’s right. Also I think she’s kind of nerdy, which I totally was in high school.”
EC: In Sorority Row, your character immediately panics, do you handle stressful situations similarly?
RW: “I’d probably be the one to act quickly. I tend be a little bit of a mother hen. I’d try to wrangle everybody in.”
EC: Has the media attention you’ve received had an effect on your confidence?
RW: “No, I think that you can either be famous or you can be an actor, and I just want to be an actor. For me the media stuff is secondary.”
EC: Who are your go-to designers?
RW: “I really like Alexander Wang, Rick Owens and American Apparel.”
EC: You recently twittered, ‘Life can get crazy and stress you out. Then it slows down and you get stressed because you’re not doing anything. Sometimes I forget to breathe.’ Are you more comfortable when you’re on the go, or are you someone who needs downtime?
RW: “I tend to like to keep myself busy because I like doing things and progressing, growing and changing.”
EC: Would you say you’re similar socially? Or are you a homebody?
RW: “Oh, I’m a total homebody.”
EC What other projects are you working on?
RW: “There’s a movie that I’m shooting in New York called Walks. My character’s based on the character Donny [Jeff Bridges’ dim-witted sidekick] from The Big Lebowski.”

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited to Disney’s sneak preview event where they presented their upcoming film lineup. The standout of the day, of course, was Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland. Hands down, it’s the film I’m most excited to see in the New Year. After the preview, we headed to the Carlu for a special Alice in Wonderland exhibit featuring costumes, props and model sets from the upcoming flick. S-P-E-C-T-A-C-U-L-A-R is the only word to describe it. From models of the Red Queen’s (Helena Bonham Carter) and White Queen’s (Anne Hathaway) castles to Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter costume, Burton has created an awe-inspiring fantasy world that will have film and fashion lovers in raving. —Alexandra Breen
