Carla Bruni

Lancôme is joining forces with the Carla Bruni-Sarkozy Foundation to introduce the Lancôme Revelations program. The glam chanteuse and First Lady of France established her own organization just this year, with the goal of giving access to culture, education and artistic knowledge to those disadvantaged by social and economic backgrounds. The new Lancôme Revelations program will encourage disadvantaged French students to explore their artistic talents and possible creative professions with the help of personalized educational guidance, artistic master classes and preparation for art-school entrance exams.

Jacob

Montreal-based retailer Jacob is building on the success of their namesake fragrance, which they launched in 2007, with the addition of Jacob Care lip glosses. Available in three candy-coloured, ultra-slick shades dubbed Bella, Donna, and Cita, the glosses are available in Jacob stores across Canada starting today. Pick up your fave shea-butter and vitamin E enriched-shade this month and you’ll be donating $1 of the $10 purchase price to the Canadian Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Awareness.

EveViva Glam Lipstick

Red carpet pouts were polished to perfection at amfAR’s inaugural Cinema Against AIDS event, held Tuesday night at Toronto’s Carlu venue and sponsored by longtime TIFF participant M.A.C Cosmetics. Foxy songstress Eve, M.A.C’s honorary Viva Glam spokesperson, was in attendance, showing off her luscious lips (slicked with Viva Glam V lipstick and clear Lipglass) and hoping to help bring attention to the global AIDS epidemic. To date, the M.A.C Aids Fund has raised over $148 million exclusively through the sale of Viva Glam lipsticks and lipglasses; 100 percent of the proceeds from the products go towards the fight against HIV/AIDS. M.A.C’s pro team of makeup gurus have been on hand to prep over 100 celebs for TIFF red carpets this week, including the much talked-about screenings for Private Lives of Pippa Lee, The Informant!, Whip It and Young Victoria.

h-h-aw09v054Six Scents

If you missed out on last year’s hyper-cool fragrance collection from Six Scents, featuring limited edition mixes from the likes of Gareth Pugh and Preen, now is your chance to get in on the indie action. A new group of it kids have signed up to create their own signature scents with the help of a fragrance expert from powerhouse Givaudan. We can’t wait to sample the concoctions that collaborators Phillip Lim and Henry Holland come up with. Bonus: a portion of all proceeds will be donated to Pro-Natura, an organization that tackles social, economic and environmental problems that face rural communities in developing countries. Keep a look out in select stores across Canada next month. Visit www.six-scents.com.

Soft Hands Kind Heart

Looks like The Body Shop is up to their do-gooding tricks again. The sweet smelling emporium is helping to raise awareness of human trafficking by teaming up with the Canadian organization Beyond Borders and global activist and human trafficking survivor Somaly Mam. One of the largest and fastest-growing criminal industries in the world, human trafficking affects virtually every country, including Canada, and exploits approximately 1.8 million young people each year. Each purchase of The Body Shop Soft Hands Kind Heart Hand Cream, $10, donates $6 directly to Beyond Borders, while all proceeds from The Body Shop Bag for Life and gift bags will go to the Somaly Mam Foundation in support of rehabilitation and support services in Cambodia.
