Nivea

Which?, a UK-based consumer and product-testing group, has found that when it comes to your face, you sometimes get more than what you pay for. A panel of women aged 35 to 65 were blind tested––applying various anti-aging creams daily––and results were tested by a panel of analysts. The group found that face cream which sells in the UK for under £4, proved to be more effective than some of the most luxurious brands. Who nabbed the title for best overall cream? The recessionista-friendly Nivea Visage Q10 Plus Advanced Wrinkle Reducer.

BalmaniaJohnson's Baby Oil

Fall’s biker babe minis à la Balmainia require ultra-smooth gams. Nix razor burn with a flawless shave thanks to recessionista-friendly Johnson’s Baby Oil. We smoothed on the drugstore favourite in the shower and got busy with our usual disposable. The pure mineral oil helps to soften hair and lock in skin’s natural moisture–– leaving our pins extra silky post-shower. The best part was how the oil stayed put for the whole ordeal instead of sliding down the drain mid-shave like the usual cream variety. Available across Canada at drug- and grocery stores and mass-market retailers.
