Natalie Portman glammed it up on the red carpet for the premiere of her new movie Brothers, but instead of showing off a chic Lanvin number (Alber Elbaz is one of her bffs), the pint-size actress took a decidedly Canadian route by stepping out in a vibrant blue frock by Vancouver-raised Jason Wu and contrasting magenta heels, $90, by Montreal-based Aldo. Portman, who is a vegan, chose the satin “Segura” heels because they’re leather-free and had Wu replace the leather belt with an animal-friendly satin band. Who says green can’t be gorgeous?!

Big Love star and style child Chloë Sevigny paired her fun and frothy polka dot Isaac Mizrahi gown with a glam red-carpet pout and low-maintenance pony at Sunday night’s Primetime Emmy Awards. Steal the polished yet playful look with a swipe of YSL’s new Gloss Volupté Sheer Sensual Gloss Stick, $35, in Frozen Cherry. We love the gloss’ sheer dose of vibrant, ultra-shiny colour and yummy mango scent. Available across Canada at Holt Renfrew, Murale and select The Bay.

Megan Fox may play the token high-school cheerleader (who becomes possessed by a demon, no less) in the TIFF flick Jennifer’s Body, but the bombshell pulled out all the stops and stepped out in full-on glamour at the red-carpet premiere screening. Her black lace Valentino frock was chic, of course, but what we’re really falling over ourselves for are her perfect-shade-of-nude lips, expertly groomed full brows and lush brushed-out waves. Voted Most Popular, indeed.

Two of our favourite celebrity fashion-philes hit the red carpet in London last night for the UK premiere of Quentin Tarantino’s latest flick Inglorious Basterds. Diane Kruger rocked a ruffled Balmain number complete with tough studded-heels and chain-link belt. We can’t wait to see what she’ll be wearing while strolling the streets of Vancouver – she’s moving there this fall to be with her Canadian beau Joshua Jackson. Style rogue Rihanna chose to slip into a jumpsuit from Alexander McQueen and pair with off-beat lace and pearls. Whose take on classic evening black do you prefer?

Perennial fashion fave Chloe Sevigny rocked a one-shoulder dress at last night’s opening of Bulgari: Between History & Eternity in Rome. The chic “Wanted” frock is from Acne’s Fall/Winter 09 collection.
